Starship Guild Partners with Invisible College to Accelerate Web3 Adoption

Onboarding the next billion people into web3 will require more than just technical infrastructure, we also need educational programs that will enable people to operate within this new paradigm.

Today, we’re excited to announce that Starship Guild is partnering with Invisible College (IC) to support our shared vision of bringing web3 to the world.

About Invisible College

Invisible College is building a new kind of learning institution that is dedicated to helping people contribute, build and invest in web3.

To motivate community members to co-create and grow the school, Invisible College launched the Decentraliens—a collection of 10,000 NFT aliens on the Solana blockchain.

By holding at least one Decentralien, students get an all-access pass to the courses, programming, and community at IC. Holders also get a chance to own a piece of the school (you can get yours on Magic Eden).

About the Partnership

Onboarding into web3 is anything but straightforward. Newcomers are forced to build a new vocabulary, master complex concepts, operate unintuitive tools, all the while avoiding a potential myriad of scams and hackers.

In order to onboard the next billion people into web3, we believe education is essential. Whether it's learning to set up a wallet or figuring out how to leverage DeFi, we must equip people with the knowledge to make sound choices and prosper in this new paradigm.

Invisible College is at the forefront of building this educational infrastructure, which Starship Guild intends to leverage to accelerate its efforts to educate its guild members and their physical communities.

Our Investment

To initiate this partnership, we have minted 10% of the NFTs from Invisible College’s Decentraliens collection, for a price of 1.5 SOL each. We see this as a long-term investment that aligns the partnership to reach its shared goals.

Additionally, we view each Decentralien itself as a phenomenal investment with significant pricing upside potential, which will add value back to the Starship treasury over time.

Building the Builders

In web2, people typically start out as builders and only become investors once they’ve achieved enough financial success to gain accreditation. Web3 flips the script. Since individuals can invest less than a dollar into a token-based project, everyone has the opportunity to invest. From there, many choose to start building and launching projects of their own.

To support builders in their community, Invisible College is constructing a launchpad that will give members the knowledge, community, and capital to launch their own token-based projects.

When we think about the future of Starship Guild, we want to build pathways for our guild members to flourish beyond just earning by playing games. We want to create journeys that allow them to grow and evolve as people, and have the resources to learn, build, and launch themselves, both online and offline.

As the first official project to launch out of IC, Starship Guild experienced firsthand the power of having support from the Invisible College community. It was through IC that we managed to raise $2MM in a weekend during our initial mint offering.

We believe the IC community has the potential to help launch many other companies that will come to define the next phase of the internet.
